Texas Restaurant Association Show – George Brown Convention Center – Sunday, June 23, 2014

Thanks to my Gal Pal Sondra Pulford, I attended the first day of the two-day Texas Restaurant Association show at the George Brown Convention Center- 6/23/14 There was a very cool express check in option, and all I had to do was key in our names and then hit print. I had been preregistered by my sweetie’s admin . . . Roni .   The attendee then,  just slipped the official registration ID’s into a standard trade show badge holder with the clip on hanging lanyard neck strap . . .. And we were off . . . No paper documents required.  WHU Hoo!

It’s  amazing the variety of vendors at these events . . .. There were several food trucks, a big shiny red Coca Cola truck and a myriad of other vendors offering tastes of martini olives, specialty cheeses, beer, wine, breads, fajita chicken, beef and shrimp as well as sausage tastings. . And the list could go on. There was a bounty of Desserts including pies, cakes, cupcakes, gelato and the ubiquitous born in Texas, Blue Bell Ice Cream It was a pleasant surprise to see about 6 gluten free vendors, a tofu vendor, hydroponic and organic produce, dairy vendors and coffee vendors, spread among the traditional Standard food vendors and suppliers.

After walking around the show for almost three hours  . . . trying to take in everything, talking, networking and tasting mini bites of many, many food/dessert items and imbibing a plethora of beverage samples . . .it was time to go home and Chill Lax. . . and rest up for a real seated dinner at a relaxed upscale  restaurant.   A few hours later, we ended up at J Alexander’s for some fabulous cuisine. A perfect Sunday!
